Driver Flees High-Speed I-95 Chase, Crashes After PIT Maneuver: PA State Police

A police pursuit on Interstate 95 in Delaware County ended with a suspect in custody after fleeing both by vehicle and on foot, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Thursday, March 20.

Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle on I-95 southbound at mile marker 9 in Tinicum Township around 1:15 a.m., but the driver sped away, according to the release. A chase ensued, and officers used a PIT maneuver near mile marker 7.2, stopping the fleeing vehicle.

The driver then ran from the scene but was caught by Ridley Township police, authorities said. Troopers found a firearm inside the suspect’s vehicle, which was towed to PSP Media pending a search warrant.

The driver and two passengers were transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Charges are pending.
